Ouch!

This mama and this girl do not like bees! Ouch! :(

P.S. Does anyone know of any good natural remedies to get the swelling down? This happened yesterday and it still looks and feels sore today!

  1. Josie got stung a few weeks back and it immediately started swelling awfully. It was like 3/4 of an inch around when this mama I am friends with grabbed this weed off the ground, chewed it up to make a poultice, spat it out and put it on Josie's sting. I thought it was odd, but I trust this mom, so we held it on for ten minutes or so while I got Josie calmed down. When we took the poultice off, the sting welt was completely gone. Totally, with just a tiny mark where the sting had been. The mom said it draws poison out. Josie was so happy. It's the plantain weed (different from the banana things). I don't know if it grows near you, but here's a pic and article: http://healing.about.com/od/homeremedies/ss/plantain.htm It worked so well for us I had to share! I hope she feels better soon!

  3. Arnica gel and a icepack. I got stung in the face by one of my husband's bees, use the arnica and ice pack and you could't even tell where I had been stung.

  4. Thank you Megan! I never thought of that! It still was swollen today, so next time (if there is a next time), I will have to remember all this!
