Reading Eggs Review

Reading Eggs is an Online Learn to Read program geared towards children ages 4 to 7 years old. With 120 lessons filled with vocabulary, comprehension, spelling, and grammar, this reading program is not only educational, but also comprehensive and fulfilling for both the adult and child.

Zoelle has been reading since she was three years old. It started very slowly with our BOB books and it grew this year thanks to our Heart of Dakota homeschool curriculum. When I was approached to do a review on Reading Eggs, I was very excited to give Zoelle another option to read. She literally soaks up reading and any chance she can get, she has a book in her hands. I was a bit nervous to see if she would mind reading on a computer screen, or even if she (or I) would feel that it was a bit too much like a game. However, I was pleasantly impressed as she went through her very first lesson, that it was fun but still educational.

When I sat down to write this review, I asked her what she thought about Reading Eggs and she told me, "It is fun and I learn from it. I learn to read new words." I would definitely agree with her. Another bonus for me, is that I can hand Zoelle my computer and know that she can do this program on her own. It makes for a great addition to our day, or even just for some downtime.

One of the fun parts of the program for me, is that it shows me what level Zoelle is at in reading based off of how well she has done in each activity. This provides me with a bit of a guide when going to the library each week to pick out her books.

If you are interested in trying Reading Eggs for yourself, make sure you check out the free 14 day trial they offer! Then, if you are like me, and you love what you get, sign up for more at a super reasonable price! I don't think you will regret it!
